My name is Carlos Cancino. I have been happily married for 29 years and am a proud father of two children and grandfather of three wonderful grandchildren. Music has been a part of my life for over 30 years, and throughout my journey, I have developed the ability to play and teach a variety of musical instruments, including percussion.
For nearly 15 years, I served as the director of a worship music ministry, where I guided musicians, organized performances, and helped others grow through music. Today, I am also proud to work with the Self-Determination Program through the San Diego Regional Center, supporting children and young adults with special needs through personalized music instruction.
Teaching music is more than a job to me — it is something that truly brings joy to my heart. I love seeing my students grow in confidence, discover their talents, and experience the happiness that music can bring into their lives. I strive to create a patient, encouraging, and positive environment where every student feels comfortable learning at their own pace.
Overview
I provide personalized music lessons designed to support children and young adults with special needs in a safe, patient, and encouraging environment. Every student learns differently, and I take the time to understand each individual’s abilities, interests, and learning style so lessons can be adapted to meet their unique needs.
